An NFC chip is embedded in your TapTag™ during production. When an NFC-enabled phone or reader gets within 2–4 inches of the tag, the reader powers the chip and reads its data, a URL, a vCard, plain text, an app-launch instruction, or the chip's own unique ID.
Most consumer use cases are URL-based: phone reads the URL, opens the link, no app needed.
For access control, ticketing, or cashless flows, your event platform's reader uses the encoded UID to look up the credential in your system.
