What are Skill Tags®?
Think of a Skill Tag® as a Scout merit badge, but for the classroom.
Skill Tags® are colorful, durable plastic tags depicting individual academic skills, reading benchmarks, or positive character traits. Students earn them by mastering a specific skill, hitting a reading milestone, or demonstrating the character traits you want to see in your classroom.
Every tag is fully customized with your school logo and colors, and can feature any terminology, skills, or benchmarks you choose. They map directly to your own teaching curriculum.
Each Skill Tag® is punched with a hole in the corner, so students can display their earned tags on their backpacks, the same way Scouts wear their badges.
Teachers use them for reading achievement, character development, citizenship, Student of the Month, and any focused skill worth recognizing.

A friendly word of warning.
In our experience, you’re going to have one small problem with your Skill Tags® order. They become so popular with students that, in some school programs, they have had a way of mysteriously going missing off kids’ backpacks. We’re not kidding. We much prefer students to earn their Skill Tags® rather than “borrow” them from a classmate, so we leave space on the back of every tag for each student to write in their name.

Design & Proof
Submit your logo and any design requirements. Our creative team will present initial concepts, walk you through revisions, and present a final proof for approval. This is a free service that we extend to all Skillzys® partners, clients, and prospects.
Sit Back & Relax
Once you approve, we produce. Standard turnaround is 5–7 business days from final artwork approval. 2–3 business day rush production is available if needed.

Frequently asked.
What artwork files do I need to send?
Vector files are best (AI, EPS, PDF with fonts outlined), but we regularly work with schools that only have a PNG or JPG logo. Our creatives will clean up what you send and produce a proof before anything prints.
Is there a minimum order?
Our standard pricing starts at 50 tags (Starter tier). For smaller runs, reach out - we'll give you a custom quote.
Can the back of the tag be different from the front?
Yes. Two-sided full-color printing is included. Many schools leave a write-in space so each student can put their name on the back (which also keeps tags from "wandering" between backpacks), and use the rest for a benchmark checklist, a message, or a sponsor or PTA logo to help offset the cost.
How long does a typical order take?
Standard turnaround is five (5) business days from final artwork approval. Rush production (2–3 business days) is available when you need it faster. Let us know up front and we'll confirm availability.
Can we reorder the same design later?
Absolutely. Once your artwork is on file, reorders skip the setup fee. Only pay the setup fee again if the design changes (new skills, new sponsor, updated logo).
What sizes and special finishes can you produce beyond the standard CR80?
Plenty. Larger sizes, custom shapes, foil accents, lenticular, metallic, we've produced Skill Tags® in dozens of configurations for schools, clubs, and events. Those fall outside the standard pricing above; request a custom quote and we'll put a number on it.
What do teachers use Skill Tags® for?
Reading achievement and benchmarks, character development, citizenship, Student of the Month, behavior and effort programs, and any focused academic skill worth recognizing. If you can define it and a student can earn it, we can put it on a tag in your school colors.
Can the whole school use them, not just one classroom?
Absolutely. Many of our school clients run Skill Tags® across a grade level or the entire building, with each teacher choosing the skills and benchmarks that fit their students. Order together and the per-tag price drops at the higher volume tiers above.
